This annual report on implementing the Millennium Declaration, UN 2002 ocuses on commitments made in all chapters of the Declaration and on issues that were particularly salient over the past year, and pays particular attention to cross-cutting relationships among them. It contains a statistical annex that tracks the progress made in achieving the Millennium development goals, starting from a common baseline. The report also highlights the two themes designated for the current year: preventing armed conflict, and the treatment and prevention of major diseases, including HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis.
